Hollywood Cowgirl

One thing I've particularly noticed this season, is the Denim/Jeans trend, inspired by the traditional American Cowboy style. It's a trend I like a lot (I bought several denim/jeans items, like the denim jacket, the trendy denim blouse, the jeans ripped shorts, the bustier denim dress and the jeans skirt) I must confess I'm a big fan. All I have to buy, is my own Cowboy hat, but I can't find one that looks nice on me. I like to accessorize all those items with cognac-colored belts and sandals or with biker boots.

To illustrate this trend, I'd like to share with you a Elle Spain editorials, lensed by Santiago Esteban, that will be published in the march 2011 issue, featuring the amazing Hana Soukupova (can'y get enough of this model). I love the fact that they also features fringes, military jackets and cute dresses.

What do you think of this editorial and the trend? (click on the pictures for a higher resolution)

Look of the Day: Crocheted Tops and Maxi Skirts

Thanks to a little something called gastroenteritis (*cough, cough* can you hear my sarcasm), I've spent the last 48 hours in my bed, reading fashion magazines and doing my best to be able to study the Labour Laws. The good thing here, is that I've prepared a post for you, about what will be, according to me, one of the biggest trends this spring/summer: mixing crocheted tops and maxi skirts. I've been inspired by the Alberta Ferretti Spring/Summer 2011 fashion show, where the look is omnipresent.

Wearing this look, you have to think about the 70s, the hippy, boho or festival chic styles, to complete it. I first suggest you to accessorize it with a floppy straw hat for a garden look (as seen on Alberta Ferretti's catwalk), during the summer, a headband (Emilio Pucci), or a crocheted beanie, if you want to add a hipster touch. A cognac, beige or brown leather belt (Lanvin) would also be a good add. For a perfect boho look, think about adding a lot of accessories: piles of (wooden and/or gold) bangles, lots of rings and long pendant necklaces. A macramé or crochet bag (Emilio Pucci) can complete the outfit. Or a leather bag with fringes (Emilio Pucci again). The perfect fabrics are cotton, chiffon or silk.

Finally, when it comes to colors, think of cremes, ivory, earthy tones, browns, oranges or whites. For exemples:

If you're just like me, not a 5'8 tall girl (I'm 5 feet 2 inches), you can wear the alternative version, the shorter skirt. All you have to keep in mind is the bell bottom and the light fabrics.

What do you think of the trend? Would you wear it? How would you accessorize it?

Christian Louboutin Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Christian Louboutin is, and will always be, my favorite shoes designer (though I Acne ankle boots, Jeffrey Campbell designs, Dsquared² bone heels (skeletal booties) and Yves Saint Laurent's pumps also win my heart). What I particulary like in the Spring/Summer collection is the use of studs and the bright colors. What do you think about the collection? Which one is your favorite? Here are mine:
